Web and Social Media Leader
Part time position: Genome Writers Guild Online Media Leader
The Genome Writers Guild (GWG) is looking for someone with smarts, energy, and desire to help shape the future of the GWG. We need a dynamic leader to manage our online media platforms — GWG web site and social media. As the media leader, you’ll bring together a team of volunteers to assist you in maintaining our current platforms as well as developing new content for them.

Who are you and what do you do?
  • Studying, working, or interested in the field of genome engineering
  • Want to communicate the value, benefit, and amazing developments
  • Like to innovate and stay on top of technology
  • Attend once-a-month meetings with the executive committee

    Qualifications
  • Excellent judgement, communication, and diplomacy; demonstrated experience working in a collaborative environment
  • Experience using social media marketing tools including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram
  • Experience with SquareSpace, Microsoft Office Suite, GSuite, basic HTML code, Mailchimp
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)

    Salary/Compensation
  • $15 per hour; up to 40 hours per month for the first 3 months, 20 hours per month for 9 months

    The work you do as Online Media Leader is important.
    The GWG web site is our front door to the world. The Guild’s other online media platforms (Facebook and Twitter) communicate to the scientific community and the general public the value and benefits of the Guild’s activities, contributions, and research by Guild members.
